Winter is here and our days have already started getting longer. Hope you all had a delightful Winter Solstice.  What a perfect time to snuggle in, light a fire and make deliciously healthy soups.

 

Eat light healthy meals, rest and take 45 drops of the Echinacea and Sambucus nigra herbal tincture blend as well as Vitamin C every two hours. Come for a homeopathic consultation should symptoms persist.
 

This is also the time of year when we need to boost our immune system and act quickly in treating unwanted coughs, colds, flu and sinusitis, before any viruses set in.


Boost your immune system with Vitamin C and zinc, which is always the order of the day, Clean up your diet, follow a healthy eating plan, (continue or start-up and join me for the Spout Naturally Healthy eating régime). Get out for a walk and soak up those winter sunrays. 

 

If you feel that you are coming down with something increase your vitamin C dose to a two hourly intake, along with taking 45 drops of an Echinacea and Sambucus nigra herbal tincture blend every two hours.  

 

Echinacea works largely as an immune stimulant by increasing the activity of the white blood cells. It has an antibiotic, antiviral and antifungal action and is also used to treat acute respiratory infections. Sambucus also has a marked immune boosting action, and is greatly beneficial at the onset of colds, fevers, flu, tonsillitis and sinusitis. Together with its decongest-ant and relaxant effects it is able to relieve bronchial congestion and tight coughs. Of course there are other therapeutic actions for these two herbals and of course there may be many other herbals which may be indicated for you specifically but this is a great place to start.

Consider a Cup of Tea

An inch of Fresh Ginger,
Juice of ½ a Lemon,
A pinch of Cayenne pepper,
A little black pepper,
¼ tsp. crushed Garlic if tolerated,
45 drops Echinacea and Sambucus blend,

A spoon or two of Honey to taste.
Drink it whilst hot to help decongest the sinuses and stimulate the immune system.
